Welcome
Serving Those in Delaware Who Served America!

Founded in 2011, the Delaware Veterans Coalition is a registered, nonpartisan veterans advocacy and lobbying organization dedicated to improving the lives of Delaware veterans, military families, and service members across the First State. We work pro bono, standing as a trusted voice for those who have worn the uniform and continue to contribute to our communities long after their service ends.
With more than 73,000 veterans and their families living in Delaware, veterans represent one of the state’s strongest assets — bringing leadership, discipline, public service, workforce skills, and economic strength to every county. Our mission is to ensure their sacrifices are honored not only with gratitude, but with meaningful policy, support, and opportunity.
We collaborate closely with Delaware legislators, the Governor’s office, state agencies, veterans service organizations, and community leaders to advance legislation that protects veterans’ rights, expands access to benefits, strengthens healthcare resources, and improves education, employment, and family support programs.
From Dover to Wilmington to Sussex County, the Delaware Veterans Coalition remains committed to:

Among our most impactful achievements, the Coalition worked directly with the Delaware General Assembly and the Governor to champion and pass House Bill 1, landmark legislation that established Delaware’s first Secretary of Veterans Affairs, creating a dedicated cabinet-level advocate to coordinate services and better serve veterans statewide.
This milestone strengthened Delaware’s commitment to those who served by improving coordination between state agencies, expanding access to veterans benefits and healthcare resources, and ensuring that veterans’ issues are represented at the highest levels of state government. Today, the Coalition continues to advocate for policies that address mental health support, housing stability, employment opportunities, education benefits, and long-term care for aging veterans, working year-round to make Delaware one of the most veteran-friendly states in the nation.
